Constant_V: 21C/19C. Procedures for Anthropometric Image Reversal

Through the lenses of 19th century photographers, the visual artist Antje Van Wichelen dives into the clichés and underlying motives of the Western colonial anthropometric collections and their view on the ’Other’. Using stop-motion methods, manual 16mm film development and printing, stretches of film rolls and magnifying glasses, Antje re-writes these images and proposes us a more sensitive regard.
